Dr. Anjali Uma Pandit is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Psychiatry at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She is the co-director of the Behavioral Medicine program within the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. She is a clinical psychologist specializing in the field of gastroenterology, weight management, and metabolic and bariatric surgeries. Dr. Pandit works in a primarily clinical role providing assessment and intervention for patients with diagnoses such as IBS, GERD, IBD, EoE, and other GI conditions; she uses evidence-based treatments, primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Gut-Directed Hypnotherapy.
Dr. Pandit also conducts bariatric surgery psychosocial evaluations and provides psychological intervention for patients seeking weight management. Dr. Pandit has research interests in the psychological factors related to bariatric surgery and GI symptoms and conditions and is also interested in cultural and diversity factors within medical care.
