Anjali Kusumbe is the head of the Tissue and Tumour Microenvironments Group at the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology in the Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology, and Musculoskeletal Sciences at the University of Oxford, UK. She moved to the Kennedy Institute in July 2016 to start her research group after completing her postdoctoral research at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine, Germany on bone angiogenesis. She pursued her doctoral studies with a fellowship from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, India and was awarded Ph.D. in 2012. She has received multiple awards including the Werner-Risau Memorial Award for her work.
