Dr. D'Souza won the Zimmerman Award in 2010 as a resident at William Beaumont Hospital for outstanding clinical judgment, leadership, and integrity. She has worked at Froedtert & MCW since 2013. In 2019, she received The Daniel McCarty Award for Research Excellence from the Department of Medicine, MCW, and the 2019 Rising Pioneer Award from MCW Women in Science. Dr. D’Souza is passionate about education and regularly volunteers her time in community engagement through multiple myeloma and amyloidosis support groups.

Anita D’Souza, MD, MS completed medical school in Goa Medical College, India where she graduated at the top of her class and was voted Best Medical Graduate. She completed her Hematology and Medical Oncology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, Minnesota. Dr. D'Souza's clinical and research work is focused on plasma cell cancers (e.g. multiple myeloma, AL amyloidosis, POEMS syndrome, Waldenstrom Macroglobulinemia) and the use of hematopoietic cell transplantation to treat these diseases. She serves as a scientific director of the Plasma Cell Disorders and Adult Solid Tumors working committee in the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR). She is the principal investigator on clinical trials in amyloidosis and multiple myeloma. She is a recipient of the 2016 KL2 Career Development Award from the Clinical and Translational Science Institute. Dr. D’Souza is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology.
