Dr. Anil Vachani, M.D., is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Pulmonary and Critical Care Division at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. At the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Vachani serves as Director of the Lung Nodule Program, Co-Director of the Lung Cancer Screening Program and Director of Bronchoscopy at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center. He serves as the Vice Chairman of the Thoracic Oncology Network of the American College of Chest Physicians. He serves as a Member of Medical Advisory Board at OncoCyte Corporation.

Dr. Vachani received his Medical Degree from the University of California, San Francisco in 1996, after which he completed Internal Medicine and Pulmonary/Critical Care Training at the University of Pennsylvania. He also holds a Masters in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Vachani’s research is focused on the discovery and validation of early detection and treatment prediction biomarkers for lung cancer and mesothelioma. Additional areas of research include studies on the measurement of biomarkers from circulating tumor cells and circulating free DNA, Finally, he is conducting studies on population-level uptake of genomic and genetic technologies for treatment decisions in lung cancer using cancer registry and claims data.
