Angela Fariss Edwards MD, FASA

Angela F Edwards MD, FASA is an Associate Professor and Section Head of Perioperative Medicine for the Department of Anesthesiology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. For the last ten years, she has been actively engaged in patient safety efforts by promoting perioperative medical management and preoperative optimization. She has served as the medical director of preoperative assessment and the anesthesia champion for enhanced recovery after surgery at Wake Forest University. Edwards currently serves as President of the Society for Perioperative Assessment and Quality Improvement as well as Co-Director for the society’s annual international multidisciplinary educational conference, The Perioperative Medicine Summit.
