Angel Luis Montejo Gonzalez PhD, MD is full Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Salamanca, Spain. Head of the Neuroscience 2 Group of the Biomedical Research Institute of Salamanca (IBSAL) and President of the Spanish Association of Sexuality and Mental Health. He developed the PRSexDQ-Salsex Questionnaire (Psychotropic–Related Sexual Dysfunction Questionnaire (2000) validated for depression and schizophrenia and translated into multiple languages, including English, French, German, Italian, Greek, Polish Portuguese, Danish, Chinese, and Japanese. Professor Montejo earned his medical degree and PhD in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Salamanca, and he completed training in Psychiatry at Maryland (USA), Maudsley Hospital (London), Karolinska Institute (Stockholm), University of Columbia (New York), Massachusetts Gen Hospital (Boston) and others.
Gonzalez's main research interests are sexuality and psychiatry, psychotropic-related sexual dysfunctions, and iatrogenic hyperprolactinemia secondary to antipsychotics. He’s strongly involved in Clinical Trials on the development of new compounds for severe mental diseases, psychopharmacology, depression, schizophrenia, and dementia. He has been involved as a principal Investigator in more than 100 competitive research projects and clinical trials. He has published more than 190 scientific national and international papers in psychiatric journals, receiving more than 6.000 citations, as well as seven books. Additionally, he is a member of several international and national scientific associations. He is also a member of numerous editorial staff and works as a referee of relevant national and international psychiatric journals.
