Andy Petroianu MD, PhD

Dr. Andy Petroianu, MD in 1976 and PhD in Surgery in 1985 at Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Currently, is working as Full Professor at the Department of Surgery of the School of Medicine at the Federal University of Minas Gerais and is the Head of the Service of General Surgery at the Santa Casa Hospital in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. He is the Coordinator of the Medicine Unit of the National Council of Science and Technology in Brazil, and Member of the Surgery Sector of the National Post-graduate Council in Brazil, and a Member of the Medicine Sector of the Foundation for Assistance to Research of Minas Gerais State. His research has included studies on spleen anatomy and functions, conservative surgeries on the spleen, healing procedures, organ transplantations, digestive motility, oncologic surgeries, etc.
