Dr Green of the University of Nottingham is a former Ashcott Primary School pupil as well as a Crispin School student in Street.
Dr Green and his team at the university, together with Nottingham Prognostics Limited and Medical Research Council, have made global headlines by unveiling a new test that looks for seven different types of breast cancer in one go.
Dr Green is a senior research fellow within the School of Molecular Medical Sciences at the University of Nottingham. He has published 94 papers in international scientific journals.
