The University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine is pleased to announce the
appointment of Dr. Andrew Webb to Special Advisor to the Dean, Fraser Health,
from July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2014.
Dr. Webb received his medical degree from the University of Wales College of
Medicine in 1981, his doctorate in 1993, and he has been a Fellow of the Royal
College of Physicians since 1997. Prior to moving to Canada in July 2009, he was
an Executive and Medical Director for UCL Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in
London, UK, where he was responsible for the operation and delivery of clinical
and support services.
Dr. Webb is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine at UBC and VP Medicine for the Fraser
Health Authority where he provides executive leadership and strategic oversight to the quality and safety
of clinical care, including Infection Control, Risk Management and Legal Services. He also provides
physician leadership, and oversees the development of research and education. In addition to his
appointment as Special Advisor to the Dean, Faculty of Medicine, UBC, he holds a similar appointment at
Simon Fraser University.
