Andrew Thomas PhD

Dr Andrew Thomas leads the Roche pRED, Global Medicinal Chemistry organisation located at the Roche Innovation Centers in Basel, Switzerland and Shanghai, China. Andrew began his Roche career in 1999 working in the anti-infective department as a medicinal chemist and then focused the rest of his lab based career in developing new medicines for a range of neurodevelopment, neurodegeneration and psychiatric conditions. Andrew is Vice President, Global Head of Medicinal Chemistry, Andrews teams are responsible for the small molecules covering the therapeutic areas: Neuroscience, Ophthamology, Rare Diseases, Oncology, Infectious Diseases, Inflammation and Immunology. Andrew was educated at the Universities of St. Andrews and Cambridge, UK.
