Adjunct Associate Professor Andrew T. L. Ong is an Interventional Cardiologist at Westmead, Blacktown, and Westmead Private Hospitals. His rooms are at Westmead and Eastwood and are interested in the diagnosis, investigation, treatment, and management of coronary artery disease.
He performs echocardiography, coronary angiography, and percutaneous coronary intervention (balloon angioplasty, stents, rotavator, fractional flow reserve assessment, intravascular ultrasound, optical coherence tomography). He has a special interest in complex percutaneous coronary intervention.
He graduated from the University of NSW, undertook Cardiology training at St George Hospital, and completed an Interventional Fellowship at Dunedin, New Zealand. His Ph.D. (cum laude) was on drug-eluting stents. He has co-edited a book and published over 60 papers and book chapters. He is regularly asked to provide reviews for numerous Cardiology journals.
