Mr Andrew Manktelow went to medical school in London. His subsequent orthopaedic training was at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore. He completed his training as the Lecturer in the Academic Department of Orthopaedics at University College, London, working for Professor George Bentley.
Mr Manktelow spent a year working as a clinical fellow at Harvard University at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. During that time his work was centred around primary and revision arthroplasty. It was in America that he developed a specific interest in hip arthroplasty and hip revision surgery.
