Andrew L. Sonis

Dr. Sonis is a graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Upon completing his pediatric dental training at Children’s Hospital, Boston and Harvard University School of Dental Medicine, he joined the pediatric dentistry faculty at Louisiana State University. During this tenure he was one of the founding faculty members of the AAPD comprehensive review course and completed training in oral medicine. Subsequently, he pursued his certification in orthodontics with Dr. Tony Gianelly at Boston University Goldman School of Dentistry.

He is board certified in oral medicine and pediatric dentistry and is on the editorial board of Pediatric Dentistry and is a consultant and reviewer for the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics as well as several other national and international journals. His numerous publications reflect all three of his disciplines. He currently holds the rank of Clinical Professor in the Department of Developmental Biology at Harvard and is Senior Associate in the Department of Dentistry at Children’s Hospital, Boston where he is also a member of the craniofacial team. He is a partner in a group dental practice in Newton, Massachusetts.
