Andrew F. Jarnuczak is a Ph.D. student at the Doctoral Training Centre in Integrative Systems Biology (DTC) in Manchester. DTC is a BBSRC- funded doctoral program providing broad training for graduates from both the physical/mathematical and life sciences in the exciting new cross-disciplinary field of Integrative Systems Biology.

With a background in Chemistry (M.Sci. in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Glasgow), Andrew’s main interests are in mass spectrometry-based quantitative proteomics and mathematical modeling of biological systems. Working with Professor Claire Eyers in the CPR group and Professor Simon Hubbard at the University of Manchester, Andrew’s project aims to understand how protein homeostasis is regulated by a group of proteins called molecular chaperones. This is achieved through system-wide mass spectrometry-based quantification of proteins involved in the large chaperone networks in a model organism S. cerevisiae (commonly known as Baker's yeast) and integration of this high-end data with mathematical models.
