Andrew J. Peacock, BSc, MPhil, MD, FRCP, is Director of the Scottish Pulmonary Vascular Unit, Regional Heart and Lung Centre, Glasgow, and Honorary Professor in Medicine at the University of Glasgow. He studied at London and Cambridge Universities and has worked in several institutions including Addenbrookes Hospital Cambridge, the Royal Brompton Hospital, London, the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, and the National Heart & Lung Institute, London. He was a fellow at the Cardiovascular Pulmonary Research Laboratory, Denver, Colorado, under the late Jack Reeves. Professor Peacock is a specialist in altitude medicine and pulmonary hypertension and has published a book (Pulmonary Circulation: Diseases and their Treatment, 3rd Edition, with Professors Robert Naeije and Lewis Rubin). He has also published over 200 papers and several books, chapters and editorials in the field.
