Dr. Don-Wauchope graduated from Witwaterstrand University in 1990 and has worked in South Africa, Scotland and Ireland before immigrating to Canada in 2007. He has post-graduate degrees from the University of Cape Town and Edinburgh University.

He has clinical practice in lipidology and cardiovascular risk reduction at the Hamilton General Hospital, Hamilton, Onatio. As a Medical Biochemist he is involved with the core and chemistry laboratories for the Hamilton Regional Laboratory Medicine Program with a focus on endocrinology testing. He has a primary appointment with Pathology and Molecular Medicine as an Associate Professor, with associate appointments in Medicine and Pediatrics, at McMaster University. He is an educator in both the undergraduate and postgraduate medical education programs. His research interests are focused on synthesizing evidence for the utility of laboratory tests in clinical practice and applying this information appropriately in clinical practice guidelines.
