Andreas Zierer MD

Dr. Andreas Zierer, MD, is a Director of the Department of Cardiac, Vascular and Thoracic Surgery at Kepler University in Linz. He is also personally the Director of the Department of Cardiac, Vascular and Thoracic Surgery at the Wels-Grieskirchen Hospital. Thus, there is an Upper Austrian center of reference for the treatment of cardiac, circulatory, and vascular conditions in coordination with more than one hospital. Thanks to the pioneering research at the Kepler University Hospital in Linz and the close collaboration of both hospitals, a considerable number of patients are able to benefit from the latest insights and techniques.

Prof. Zierer is a specialist in aortic surgery, right heart insufficiency in chronic pulmonary hypertension, the surgical treatment of atrial fibrillation, and cardiothoracic surgery. Prior to taking up his current duties at the Kepler University Hospital in Linz, he was in a senior position at nationally prestigious hospitals in Germany.
