Dr. Andreas Schaper graduated in human medicine 1982-1989 in Gottingen, Hamburg, and London. He is a specialist in surgery and intensive care. In 1992 he completed his doctorate in gastroenterology (diabetes mellitus research, Prof. Creutzfeldt). 1997-1999 he worked in the AOK-Landesdirektion Niedersachsen in Hannover (SOCRATES project). After 10 years in general surgery, he moved in 2000 in the poison emergency Gottingen, since 2008 he is deputy head there.
