Andrea Mosca Ph.D. at present Full Professor of Clinical Biochemistry and of Clinical Molecular Biology at the University of Milano. Teacher in various courses in Bachelor's and Master’s degrees of Biology and Biology Applied to the Biomedical Research, as well Professor of Laboratory Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Milano. Member of the board of the Ph.D. School in Translational Medicine. Component of various internal committees of the University of Milano. Director of the Specialization School in Clinical Pathology and Clinical Biochemistry. Main interests in red cell senescence and post-translational modifications of proteins, particularly in the field of diabetes screening and monitoring, and diabetic complications. Interest also in the field of thalassemia syndromes and red cell hereditary disorders, as well in the development of reference systems for minor hemoglobins, particularly with regard to clinical trials. New topics of interest are concerning the development of novel biomarkers useful in pregnancy.

Associated Editor of Biochimica clinical, and invited reviewer for various international journals with high impact factors. Member of the Italian Society of Clinical Biochemistry and of Clinical Molecular Biology, member of the Executive Board of the same society. National Delegate of SIBioC for International relations. Secretary of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry Working group on HbA1c Standardization, Chair of the IFCC Working Group on Standardisation of Hemoglobin A2, and of IFCC Working Group on POCT. Member of the IFCC Network of Reference Laboratories for HbA1c. Coordinator of the Italian SIBioC-SIMeL Working group on Diabetes.
