Andrea Lynn Pfeifle EdD, PT, FNAP

Andrea L. Pfeifle, Ed.D., P.T., has been named the first assistant dean and director of the Indiana University Center for Interprofessional Health Education and Practice and associate professor of family medicine. She will assume her duties Sept. 15. Dr. Pfeifle‘s recent work has focused on interprofessional education and teaching collaborative practice models across medical and health science education programs. She works in the areas of clinical faculty development; sustainable instructional design principles in medical and health sciences education; and assessment and evaluation of individual student and program-level outcomes during clinical and other forms of experiential education.

She received her doctorate from the University of Kentucky and has been on the faculty there since 1998. Before joining the university, Dr. Pfeifle was the founding director of the Physical Therapist Assistant Education Program at Midway College and had been the owner and president of Physical Therapy Services, a contract rehabilitation business managing and staffing multiple ambulatory care, outpatient, home health, nursing home and hospital-based rehabilitation services in Kentucky. She also served as the director of outpatient rehabilitation services at four hospitals in Kentucky.
