Andrea G. Roberson joined the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) in November 2012
as an Accreditation Services Associate in the Accreditation Services Office. Prior to her employment at
ASHP, Andrea has practiced in a hospital setting for over 20 years. She has been a Clinical Specialist,
Clinical Coordinator, Clinical Manager, and a Director of Pharmacy. Most recently, Andrea was the
Pharmacy Clinical Manager at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta. Her duties included coordinating
Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee activities, serving as program director for the PGY-1 residency
program, supervising the clinical specialist staff and nutrition support team, and serving as Vice-Chair of
the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and the pharmacy member of the Joint Commission Steering
Committee.
Andrea is a graduate of the University of Georgia where she obtained a B.S. degree in Pharmacy and also
a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Andrea completed an ASHP accredited residency at Piedmont Hospital in
Atlanta, Georgia.
Andrea has been active in pharmacy organizations at both a state and national level. She has served as
the Education Committee Chair and Governmental Affairs Committee Co-Chair for the Georgia Society of
Health-System Pharmacists (GSHP) and was a GSHP presidential officer from 2004-2007. From 2004-
2007, she was also a Georgia delegate to the ASHP House of Delegates. In 2007, Andrea received the
Pharmacist of the Year award from GSHP. Andrea also served as an ASHP practitioner surveyor for PGY-1
residency programs prior to joining ASHP as a lead surveyor.
