Andras Palko MD, PhD

Prof. Andras Palko received his medical degree in 1977 after his studies at the Medical University of Pecs. He graduated with a distinguished result in radiology in 1981. He received his degree in medicine in 1994, and in 1999 he habilitated at the University of Szeged.

From 1977 to 1996 he worked at the Clinic of Radiology in Pecs, in 1996-97 he was head of the department at the Department of Radiology of Baranya County Hospital, and from 1998 to 2018 he was ahead professor at the Department of Radiology of the University of Szeged. In 1993, he worked in Kuwait. He has been on several study trips to the United States and Germany.

From 2002 to 2004 he was the President of the Hungarian Society of Radiologists, from 2004 to 2010 he was the President of the Professional College of Radiology, from 2013 to 2017 he was the Editor-in-Chief of Hungarian Radiology, from 2009 to 2013 he was a member of the Board of the European Society of Radiology. in 2012, from 2012 to 2017, he was Secretary-General of the European Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology.

His professional interests are abdominal, especially oncology and emergency imaging diagnostics. Author of 91 in extenso publications and 33 book chapters, editor of two books. Battyany-Strattman Prize winner, winner of the Alexander and Pocket Prizes of the Hungarian Society of Radiologists, excellent lecturer at the University of Szeged, honorary member of several foreign companies, including the North American and French Radiological Societies.
