Dr. Hirschberg received his clinical training at a number of international universities, hospitals and professional courses. He received a scientific scholarship from the University of Toronto, Canada.

His scientific degrees were completed in 1994 (Ph.D) and in 2009 (habilitation). He has been teaching for over 22 years, and is an active and invited faculty member in the graduae and post-graduae courses and lessons of four Hungarian Medical Universities. Dr. Hirschberg is a member of the Hungarian Professional College of Otolaryngology, President and Board Member of the Rhinologic Section of the Hungarian Society of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, Head & Neck Surgery. He is also the member of numerous international societies and working groups, and has been elected as the editorial member of three reviewed professional journals.

He is an invited speaker and faculty member at many different national and international congresses, where he is an active participant as well. His scientific publications number 106, including chapters in textbooks.His main fields of interest comprise rhinology (diseases of the nose and paranasal sinuses), nasal polyposis, snoring, rhinosinusitis and endoscopic surgery. Besides these, he enjoys other fields of oto-rhino-laryngology, including oncology and head and neck surgery.
