Anders Bergenfelz MD, PhD

Anders Bergenfelz received his MD from the University of Lund, Sweden. He obtained a Ph.D. in surgery from the same university in 1992 and was appointed Associate Professor at the Department of Surgery, Lund University Hospital in 1994. During 1997–1998 he worked as a Consultant Surgeon at the Philipp University in Marburg, Germany, and from 2000-2003 as a Consultant Surgeon at the University Hospital, Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen.

Anders Bergenfelz was appointed Professor at Lund University in 2008 and is currently working as a Consultant Surgeon in endocrine and sarcoma surgery at Skane University Hospital, Lund. He was director of the Practicum Clinical Skills Centre in Lund from 2011–2017. Anders Bergenfelz is the Past President of the European Society of Endocrine Surgery (ESES), and COO of the pan-European database Eurocrine. He was a BJS Editor from 2010–2016. His research interests are the surgical treatment of thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands, simulation-based clinical skills training, and patient safety.
