Ana Cortinas MD, PhD

Doctor Ana Belen Fernadez Cortinas, traumatologist at Hospital Cosaga, is the first Galician woman to receive this award and also the first time that it has been awarded to a doctor from the province of Ourense. In this way, she becomes one of the three Galician traumatologists who have managed to have a presence in this prestigious list since the prizes were awarded in Spain and she places Ourense and the Cosaga Hospital as a benchmark in the country as a whole. In previous years other Galician doctors such as Dr. Diego González Rivas (thoracic surgeon), Dr. Rafael Arriaza Loureda (traumatologist), Dr. Roque Devesa Hermida (gynecologist), and Dr. Francisco Gómez-Ulla de Irazazábal (ophthalmologist), among others They also received this award.
