Dr. Conesa graduated at the Polytechincal University of Valencia (Spain) in 1993 with a degree in Agronomy and obtained my PhD at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands in 2001 in the field of molecular microbiology. After graduation she was appointed as “Project Leader Bioinformatics” at the Department of Toxicology of the Dutch Institute for Technology and Science (TNO). In 2003 she moved to the Valencia Institute of Agricultural Research (IVIA) in Valencia, Spain as a Ramón y Cajal grantee where she started a research program in Bioinformatics for Plant Sciences. In 2007 Dr. Conesa joined the Bioinformatics Department of the Prince Felipe Research Center where became Senior Group Leader and Head of the Genomics of Gene Expression Lab in 2010. From August 2014. Dr. Conesa has a shared position of Professor Bioinformatics at the Department of Microbiology and Cell Science of the University of Florida in Gainesville.
