Ana Claudia Latronico Xavier MD, PhD

Ana Claudia Latron Xavier is a Full Professor of the Department of Clinical Medicine, Discipline of Endocrinology and Metabolism at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (FMUSP). Vice-Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Endocrinology at FMUSP, Principal Researcher at the Laboratory of Hormones and Molecular Genetics LIM/42 at Hospital das Clínicas at FMUSP, CNPq Research Productivity Scholarship – level 1A and Full Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (since 2017). History: Graduated in medicine from the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Santos, Fundação Lusíada (1987), resident physician at the Department of Clinical Medicine/Endocrinology at Hospital das Clínicas da FMUSP (1988-1991), specialist in Endocrinology and Metabolism (1991) and in Pediatric Endocrinology (2001), PhD in Endocrinology from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (1995) having completed a sandwich doctorate at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, United States, under the supervision of Professor Dr. George P. Chrousos and financial support from CNPq (1994-1995).
