Dr. Amye Tevaarwerk completed an internal medicine residency at Barnes-Jewish in 2005, followed by a medical oncology fellowship at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 2008. She joined the University of Wisconsin in 2008 as an Assistant Professor and became an Associate Professor in 2015, with a clinical practice specializing in breast cancer. Dr. Tevaarwerk is a leader in cancer survivorship care and research, as well as an expert in oncology clinical informatics.
She founded and served as the Director of the UW Survivorship Program and served as the Vice-Chair of the NCCN Survivorship Panel. She is an Epic-certified Physician Builder and is board-certified in Clinical Informatics, with roles on the Epic Oncology Steering Board and NCCN EHR Advisory Group. She serves in various clinical informatics roles at the Mayo Clinic. Her current research interests include leveraging the EHR and other healthcare IT tools to facilitate communication and care coordination between cancer specialists, primary care, and survivors, as well as employment changes related to cancer diagnosis. Dr. Tevaarwerk’s clinical practice at Mayo will specialize in breast cancer in Rochester and LaCrosse, WI.
