Amy Josephine Park, MD, is board certified in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery and obstetrics/gynecology. She is the director of research at the National Center for Advanced Pelvic Surgery at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, and is an associate professor of obstetrics/gynecology and urology at Georgetown University School of Medicine. Dr. Amy Park specializes in minimally invasive techniques such as vaginal, laparoscopic, and robotic-assisted surgery. Her areas of expertise encompass the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse, urinary and fecal incontinence, fistula repairs, and other pelvic floor disorders. Dr. Amy Park earned her medical degree at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, graduating with honors at the top of her class. She completed her residency training in obstetrics/gynecology at the University of Pittsburgh, Magee-Womens Hospital, followed by a combined fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive pelvic surgery and minimally invasive surgery at the Cleveland Clinic.
Dr. Amy Park is an investigator in the Women's Health Initiative, and is a principal investigator and mentor on several ongoing research projects, capitalizing on her specialized training in research and clinical trial design. She serves as a reviewer for several gynecology and urogynecology journals, and is on the editorial board for the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology. She has been nationally recognized for her research with awards at several national scientific meetings. Dr. Amy Park frequently lectures on urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse on a national level and teaches post-graduate courses in advanced laparoscopy, as well as reconstructive surgery techniques. She has dedicated her professional career to excellent patient care, and advancing the field of urogynecology through research and education. She consistently is cited in Top Doctors and Best Doctors in America.
