Amy Solomon MD

Amy Solomon MD is a Family Doctor, an Addiction Specialist, and a fellow through the Osher Collaborative in Integrative Medicine.

Dr. Solomon has had a lifelong passion for medicine. She began teaching herself the full spectrum of the healing arts as a youngster; self-studying botanicals and the ancient traditions such as Ayurveda and Chinese Medicine. She completed her undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of California at San Diego (UCSD) and proceeded directly to medical school at St. Louis University. She did her Residency in Family Medicine at Santa Monica/UCLA.

Dr. Solomon worked in a small rural town in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California for 20 years. Initially, as part of a group and then for 10 years in her own integrative medical practice. During that time she took an additional interest in Addiction Medicine.

She was the Medical Director of a large 72-bed residential facility for drug and alcohol rehabilitation for six years while maintaining a full-time family practice. During that tenure, she became Board Certified in Addiction Medicine. She went on to become the Medical Director and help open a dual diagnosis (Mental Health and Substance use disorders) Integrative day treatment center in Santa Cruz, CA.
