Amit Govil MD

Dr. Amit Govil is a Professor of Internal Medicine and the Nephrology Division Director. He completed his nephrology fellowship at the University of Cincinnati and transplant nephrology fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University.

Dr. Govil has research interests in the medical management of kidney and pancreas transplant patients along with immunosuppression needs, kidney-pancreas outcomes, transplant glomerulopathy, and de-sensitization of sensitized patients and has published extensively in the area. He is the Transplant Fellowship Program Director and the Section Chief of Transplant. He served as the Nephrology Fellowship Director until 2024 and continues to actively participate in teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows.
