Amit Garg MD, PhD, FRCPC, MA, FACP

Amit is a nephrologist at the London Health Sciences Centre, and a Professor of Medicine, Epidemiology & Biostatistics, at Western University. He served in the CSN Executive (Treasurer 2008 to 2011) where he developed a firm understanding of the expected roles and relationships of the CSN president. He has enthusiastically attended the last 15 CSN Annual General Meetings and has mentored 40+ trainees to network and present their academic work in this forum.

He earned a Masters in Education giving him the skills to develop educational curricula. More recently, he developed an educational program used by Western University to help clinicians learn about research analytics and methodology. Amit has successfully collaborated on 200+ research publications with individuals from across Canada and in the international context. Many of these research projects leveraged his expertise with linked healthcare databases, with the results used to drive better outcomes for patients with kidney diseases.
