Dr. Amit Chopra, M.D is an attending physician in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Albany Medical Center. Dr. Chopra specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of pleural diseases. He is highly trained and skilled in the point of care ultrasonography/ echocardiography and incorporates modern technology in day-to-day practice for patient care and medical education.

Dr. Chopra manages a wide variety of pulmonary diseases such as asthma, COPD, interstitial lung disease, Lung cancer and Pleural disorders. He also treats life-threatening illness, using modern technology in the Intensive care Unit (ICU). He is skilled in wide variety of modern pulmonary and critical care procedures, such as Pleurx Catheter placement (permanent pleural catheter placement for malignant pleural effusion for symptom relief), EBUS (minimally invasive procedure for staging of lung cancer), bronchoscopy, intubations, hemodialysis catheter placement and several others..
