Dr. Aldeen is currently vice-chair of the National Clinical Governance Board of USACS and executive medical director of the Center for Emergency Medical Education. He previously served as ED chair and medical director from 2014 to 2016 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Aldeen joined USACS from Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago where he had been an associate medical director and associate residency director of emergency medicine.

Dr. Aldeen graduated from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA, where he received his BA in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Religious Studies and his MD degree. He completed his EM residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, serving as chief resident in 2006. Dr. Aldeen led the Geriatric Emergency Department Innovations team at Northwestern, where he developed protocols to improve the care of older adults in the ED. He also serves as founder and director of the Chicago Cardiac Arrest Resuscitation Education Service, which trains the Chicago Police Department in lifesaving skills. He has authored three books and multiple peer-reviewed publications, and the Amer Aldeen Junior Faculty Teaching Award at Northwestern is named after him.
