Amelia Baffa, RN, MSN, is the Angie Fowler Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Nurse Navigator at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. She is responsible for care coordination, oncofertility preservation, program and service line development, patient and staff education, AYA research and program funding.
Baffa is the grant recipient of the Community CureSearch Grant and is the Principal Investigator for a young adult cancer survivor transition study, which assesses levels of distress and offers therapeutic interventions at regular intervals for the first year off therapy. Her mission is to create programs and services to help AYAs deal with the “new normal” during treatment, and re-engage with life after treatment, as they discover who they are, life after cancer.
