Amber Derksen is a Certified Nurse Educator with nearly 25 years of nursing experience, received her PhD in Family Nursing from Hampton University. She’s been invested in teaching baccalaureate nursing for 12 years. She has 20 years as a hospice/palliative care nurse as well as 5 years in oncology and oncology research. Her passion for nursing education has taken her all over the world. Her research into intellectual curiosity has sparked interprofessional discussions of student performance. She has also presented her research on grief and bereavement throughout the United States. She continues to investigate issues in student learning as well as strategies to implement hospice and palliative care into nursing curricula.
