Aman Chauhan MD

Aman Chauhan, MD, earned his medical degree from Kasturba Medical College in Manipal, Karnataka, India. He subsequently completed a combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, followed by a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the University of Kentucky, where he developed a focused expertise in neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). Dr. Chauhan also completed a physician externship with the Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program (CTEP) at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), with specialized training in clinical trial design and early-phase clinical research.

Dr. Chauhan’s clinical and research interests center on the management of neuroendocrine malignancies, including well-differentiated NETs (carcinoid tumors), high-grade neuroendocrine carcinomas, and small- and large-cell neuroendocrine carcinomas. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), and specializes in the care of patients with neuroendocrine cancers. He serves as national principal investigator for multiple investigator-initiated clinical trials in neuroendocrine oncology and theranostics.

Dr. Chauhan is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. He is a member of the Neuroendocrine Tumor Guidelines Committee of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC). He currently serves on the NCI Neuroendocrine Tumor Task Force, is Co-Chair of the SWOG Neuroendocrine Tumor Subcommittee, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the North American Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (NANETS).
