Alyn Martyn Lewis's research interests are principally in the statistical and economic evaluations of clinical trials. His particular interest is in methodological work around pilot and feasibility studies. He has been a successful co-applicant on 26 funded national grants totaling approx. £26million. He has 157 peer-reviewed publications of original research articles published in leading international medical journals (e.g. Lancet, BMJ) and leading journals in methodology. He has successfully supervised seven PhD students and 1 MSc student to completion and has two current PhD students. He has examined four postgraduate degrees (two internal and two external to Keele). He is currently (or previously been) a member of several committees both internal and external to Keele that are concerned with research management and leadership, study oversight, operational decision-making, teaching activity, and grant funding.
