Alvin H. Moss, M.D., FACP, FAAHPM is the Director of the West Virginia University Center (WVU) for Health Ethics and Law at the West Virginia University Health Sciences Center in Morgantown, West Virginia. In the School of Medicine at WVU, he holds an appointment as a Professor of Internal Medicine in the Sections of Nephrology and Geriatrics, Palliative Medicine and Hospice.
Dr. Moss earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He earned his Doctorate of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and a certification in medical ethics from the University of Chicago MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics. Dr. Moss trained in Internal Medicine at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine/North Carolina Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and completed a fellowship in Nephrology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver, Colorado.
Dr. Moss is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Nephrology, and Hospice and Palliative Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Since completing his training, Dr. Moss has maintained a continuous clinical practice in Nephrology and more recently hospice and palliative medicine.
