Alvaro Sanchez is currently working as Tenured Group Leader, Scientist at National Center for Biotechnology (CNB-CSIC). He got an undergraduate degree in Physics from UAM (Madrid) in 2003, and graduate degrees in Biophysics from the University of Minnesota and Brandeis, where he got his Ph.D. in 2010. After a short postdoc at MIT, he started his own group as a Rowland Junior Fellow at Harvard in 2013. He moved to Yale as an Assistant Professor in 2016, and in 2021 he was promoted to Associate Professor. Alvaro is a Packard Fellow, an HFSP Young Investigator awardee, and a Scialog Fellow of the Moore Foundation and Research Corporation, among others. In 2021, he received the Greer Prize from Yale University.
