Dr. Alvaro Campero is a Neurosurgeon based in Tucuman. He completed his training in Neurosurgery at the Hospital de Clínicas de la UBA, a service run by Prof. Armando Basso and Prof. Antonio Carrizo, and whose specialty was: Skull Base Tumors, Pituitary Tumors, and Gliomas. Later he completed a Fellowship in Microneuroanatomy in Gainesville (USA), at the Brain Institute, under Prof. Albert Rhoton. In addition, he completed his training in Sao Paulo (Brazil) with Prof. Evandro de Oliveira (specialty in Aneurysms and Arteriovenous Malformations), and in Tübingen (Germany) with Prof. Marcos Tatagiba (specialty in Acoustic Neuromas, Meningiomas, and Tumors of Skull Base).
Dr. Campero's main area of ??interest is Brain Tumor Surgery, mainly: Pituitary Tumors, Meningiomas, Gliomas, Acoustic Neuromas, and Skull Base Tumors. In addition, Doctor Alvaro Campero develops a great care activity in Spinal Surgery (Herniated Disc, Narrow Cervical Canal, Narrow Lumbar Canal, Syringomyelia, Chiari Malformation, etc). Dr. Campero is also dedicated to treating Nerve diseases (Trigeminal Neuralgia, Facial Spasm, Carpal Tunnel, Brachial Plexus Injury, etc.), and cerebrospinal fluid circulation problems (Hydrocephalus, Hakim Syndrome, etc.).
