Dr. A. Merter Ozenci attended Ege University Medical School in Izmir, where he is interested in Orthopedic Surgery. He completed his MD in 1990, and then he received orthopedic surgery residency training in Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology at the University Medical School in Antalya. After becoming an orthopedic surgeon in 1996 he worked as a sports medicine fellow at Ege University Department of Sports Medicine in Izmir. Dr. He is interested in knee arthroscopy in his early career, and doing arthroscopic knee surgery. Shoulder and ankle arthroscopy also became his area of ​​interest along with knee arthroscopy soon afterward.

Dr. Ozenci spent one year as a post-doctoral fellow at Yale University Sports Medicine Clinic in USA between the years of 2001-2002. During his stay, he attended arthroscopic operations and ground rounds, and conducted biomechanical research on ACL in Biomechanical Laboratory with Dr. Manohar Panjabi.

Dr. Ozenci has published articles on clinical studies of the knee and ankle, as well as laboratory research on cartilage and ACL, and has written international textbook chapters. His primary research area of ​​interest is human articular cartilage stem cells, cartilage apoptosis and proprioception and neurologic impact of ACL injury on the knee kinesiology.
