Dr. Alok Srivastava is Professor of Medicine at the Department of Haematology and Head, Center for Stem Cell Research, at Christian Medical College, Vellore, India and is also the Director of the IHTC of the WFH there. He has worked in the field of hemophilia and other bleeding disorders for over 25 years. His interests are in developing innovative models of care and outcome assessments that are suited for resource constrained environments. He has worked for over 20 years with the Hemophilia Federation (India) helping initiate the national registry and various education and training programs. He was the co-chair / chair of the FVIII & IX subcommittee of the SSC of the ISTH from 2001 to 2010. His association with the WFH began in 2002, first as chair of the IHTC committee and then as Chair of the IEQAS committee (2006). He was the Vice-President, Communications and Public Policy from 2008 and serves as the Vice President, Medical of the WFH from 2012-2014. He has also been the chair of the working group for both editions of the treatment guidelines of the WFH.
