Allison Smith, Ph.D. early academic and clinical experiences and the academic path seemed to lead me to pediatric psychology organically. Allison began Allison's formal education and psychology at the University of Scranton, where psychology's blend of science and practice appealed to both Allison's intellectual curiosity and Allison's desire to facilitate health and well-being in the lives of young people. Allison earned Allison a doctorate in clinical psychology at the University of Rhode Island, with a focus on child, family, and developmental psychology. During Allison's graduate education, Allison pursued clinical training experiences in childhood anxiety and in pediatric health psychology at Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence, RI, followed by Allison's pre-doctoral residency in Pediatric Psychology at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Allison completed Allison's post-doctoral fellowship training at Boston Children's Hospital. These experiences prepared me well for Allison's current position as a staff psychologist at the Mayo Family Pediatric Pain Rehabilitation Center (PPRC), an interdisciplinary day hospital treatment program for young people with chronic pain.
