Dr Andrade is an Assistant Professor at the Brookdale Department of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and a GRECC Investigator at the Geriatrics Research Education and Clinical Center (GRECC) at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center, New York. Dr Andrade completed undergraduate medical training at the Manipal Academy of Higher Education, India and trained at the Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College School of Medicine, London, receiving the Diploma in Internal Medicine, a postgraduate medical degree, from the University of London.

He joined the British National Health Service at Whiston Hospital, University of Liverpool, and became a member of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) in November 2004. Dr Andrade completed United States medical residency training at the Jersey City Medical Center, a Mount Sinai affiliate. He was valedictorian of his residency class and received the Intern of the Year, Resident of the Year, and the Most Compassionate Physician awards. Dr Andrade is fellowship trained in geriatric medicine in the Jackson Memorial Public Health System/ University of Miami Miller School of Medicine program, receiving the Geriatric Fellow of the Year award.

After completing an Advanced Fellowship in Geriatrics, a competitive award funded by the Department of Veterans Affairs, Dr Andrade was appointed as a staff physician and investigator at the Bruce W. Carter VA Medical Center in October 2010. Dr Andrade is board certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, as well as Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine. Dr Andrade’s current research work includes the study of digital human avatars in medical education, personal health records, health literacy, and cardiovascular risk reduction.
