Dr. Alison Ledger was employed by LIME for her extensive qualitative research experience. She was initially employed to research clinical placement learning, but was promoted to the role of Lecturer in 2014 and then Associate Professor in 2020. She is Head of Intercalated Programmes and oversee the portfolio of 21 intercalated programmes at Leeds.

She leads the BSc in Applied Health (Medical Education) programme for intercalating medical students and teach on the MBChB, PG Dip Physician Associates, PG Cert and Masters in Clinical Education programmes. Her main teaching topics include educational theory and practice, qualitative research methods, and critical reading and writing.

She chair LIME's Scholarship and Innovation group and lead workshops for new and early career clinical education researchers. Her research aspects of medical education, such as peer learning, arts-based teaching methods, and benefits of intercalation. She supervise clinical education research at all levels, from undergraduate through to post-doctoral work. She welcome interest from prospective PhD students. She was previously a qualified music therapist and completed her PhD on service implementation in that profession. She continue to contribute to the development of the music therapy profession internationally.
