Prof. Dr. Med. Alicia Rovo is a Deputy Clinic Director in the Medical Department and Deputy Chief Physician at the University Hospital Bern. She furthered her professional and advanced training in hematology in Buenos Aires and Basel. She is an active member of the European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) and is particularly involved in research and further education in the Late Effects Working Party and the Severe Aplastic Anemia Working Party. In Switzerland, she is an active member of the Hemoglobinopathy Platform.
Since 2003, Prof. Dr. Alicia Rovo co-organizer of the annual microscopy course of the Swiss Society of Hematology. She has broad clinical expertise in hematological diagnostics including morphology and flow cytometry as well as in the care of malignant and benign hematological diseases. Her main interest and clinical research is in the long-term follow-up of patients after stem cell transplantation as well as the diagnosis and clinical management of bone marrow failure and immune thrombocytopenia.
