Alice Chen is an Assistant Professor of Public Policy at the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy. Her research examines provider responses to financial incentives and changes in health care organization. She also studies the intersection between health and labor markets. Dr. Chen’s dissertation considered how physicians respond to changes in Medicaid payment and eligibility, and it was awarded the American Society of Health Economist’s Biennial Student Paper Award.
Prior to earning her MBA and Ph.D. in business economics from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business, Dr. Chen graduated with an AB and SM in applied math from Harvard. Her work has been cited in major media outlets, including Business Week, CBS News, Forbes, The Atlantic, and The Washington Post.
