Dr. Ali Abdul Kareem Al Obaidli, MB, BCh, BAO, MPH. Consultant Nephrologist and Transplant Physician at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) and at The Imperial College London Diabetes Centre and Chairman of UAE National Transplant Committee. He is the Group Chief Academic Affairs Officer, at Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), UAE. After completing his medical degrees from The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), he completed his postgraduates studies in Toronto Canada in Internal Medicine, Nephrology, and Transplantation and achieved his American board and Canadian Royal college certification in Internal Medicine and Nephrology, and United Network for Organ Sharing – UNOS certification in Transplant Nephrology. In addition to his clinical training, he completed healthcare management and leadership training through the American College of Physician Executives, the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians, and The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health where he got his Master of Public Health. He holds various leadership roles in the public health system in Abu Dhabi and UAE including chairman of the Scholarship Committee, Member of the UAE Board of Medical specializations, and sets on the advisory Board of Medical School at UAE University and the Fatima College of Nursing and Health sciences. He received various national awards including, Sheikh Rashid Al Maktoum’s Award for Academic Excellence 2003, Harvard Medical School Dubai Center (HMSDC) Tamayoz Award- Young Physician Award for Clinical Care 2007, and the Abu Dhabi Medical Distinction Award 2011. At the International level, he is a member of the GCC Transplant Committee, Istanbul Declaration Steering Committee, and DICG since 2008 and was Vice President Middle East Society for Organ Transplantation MESOT during 2014-2016.
