Alfredo Berardelli is Professor of Neurology and Chairman of the Department of Human Neurosciences, Sapienza University of Rome in Italy. He is also Chief of the Division of Neurology, University Hospital Policlinico Umberto I of the University. Dr. Berardelli obtained his medical degree from the Medical School of the Sapienza University of Rome and completed his training in Neurology in the Department of Neurological Sciences at the same institution. He has extensive experience and expertise in clinical neurology, movement disorders, clinical neurophysiology, and motor physiology, and has published widely in these fields (500 peers reviewed journal articles and 52 book chapters).

He is the incoming (2020) President-Elect of the Italian Society of Neurosciences. He is also a member of a number of other leading medical societies, including the American Academy of Neurology, the International Medical Society of Motor Disturbances, the International Parkinson and Movement Disorders Society, and the Italian Society of Neurology. Dr. Berardelli is also a member of the Editorial Boards of several top-tier peer-reviewed professional journals including Movement Disorders, Journal of Clinical Neurophysiology, European Journal of Neurology, Journal of the Neurological Sciences, Cerebellum & Ataxias, and Neural Plasticity.
